CONVAL® Service Release 10.6

Multilingual version (English, French, German, Polish, Chinese, Russian)

The CONVAL Service Release 10.6.6 provides the following improvements:

Pressure Relief Valve

  • Flashing conditions were not reliably detected at set pressures above the critical pressure of the liquid. The safety valve could therefore be undersized under certain circumstances.

Control Valve

  • Small improvements in the database maintaining program

The CONVAL Service Release 10.6.5 provides the following improvements:

Miscellaneous

  • Minor improvements and fixes of stability problems
  • In the license options the search can now be reset to default settings.
  • Minor improvements in the help system

Control Valve

  • Various improvements for control valves with downstream resistors using silencer (indirect):
    - Calculation of the downstream velocity in the pipeline corrected
    - Graphical optimization enabled
    - Plausibility checks revised

  • For valves with highly viscous media cv was not calculated under certain conditions.
  • In rare cases the warnings and other messages were not complete in the printout.
  • The presentation of valve data in the summary view of the input form has been revised.

Pressure Relief Valve

  • The calculation of the reaction force of liquid flows with flashing was incorrectly calculated. The reaction force is now excluded for these cases.

COM-Server

  • The downstream resistance structures for control valves are now available for all operating points in the COM server.

The CONVAL Service Release 10.6.4 provides the following improvements:

Miscellaneous

  • Minor improvements and fixes of stability problems

The CONVAL Service Release 10.6.3 provides the following improvements:

Pressure Relief Valve

  • The calculation of two-phase flow according to API 520 with manually input values for omega is supported again.

The CONVAL Service Release 10.6.2 provides the following improvements:

Miscellaneous

      • Issues concerning export to Excel templates are fixed.

      Control Valve

      • The flow direction field for valves from the database with the value "optional" must be set explicitly by the user. No default such as FTO is used.
      • The operating density of humid gases was not always calculated correctly in the downstream resistance structures.
      • Solving stability issues at valve selection

      Differential Pressure Flow Element

      • Issues that were experienced when toggling between open calculations have been resolved.
      • When changing the device, the required inlet and outlet lengths were not always updated.

      Pressure Relief Valve

      • Fixes of stability problems, especially related to language switching

The CONVAL Service Release 10.6.1 provides the following improvements:

      Miscellaneous

      • Independent tool for license search and license management
      • Revised formatting of numbers when exporting calculations
      • Revised Excel examples with improved compatibility to Office 64bit applications
      • A note is displayed when importing calculations with devices that were originally selected from the database but are now partially or completely unavailable.

      Control Valve

      • Fixed issues when loading calculations created with older versions
      • The impact of the sound insulation was not taken into account for downstream resistors.
      • Several issues in calculations with flashing conditions at the outlet have been fixed.
      • Several issues when changing the display language have been fixed.
      • Minor improvements and fixes of stability problems

      Differential Pressure Flow Element

      • Correction of the calculation of the flow coefficient C for Wedge flowmeters in 1" pipes.
      • Minor improvements and correction of stability problems.

      Pressure Relief Valve

      • When importing calculations with devices that were originally selected from the database but are now partially or completely unavailable, some information could be lost.
      • Minor improvements and fixes of stability problems, especially related to two-phase flow conditions

      Rupture Disc

      • Small improvements in calculations with devices from the database
      • Fixing stability problems

      Tank Depressurization

      • Minor improvements and fixes of stability problems

      Pressure Loss

      • The real gas factor ZN was not taken into account when calculating the density at standard conditions ϱN.

      Substance Calculation

      • Revised check of the validity range for media from the thermodynamics package
      • Minor improvements in the calculation of gas mixtures

Details about other improvements and error corrections can be found on the download page in the version history and in the known bugs section.

The service release can be downloaded free of charge.
