CONVAL ® Service Release 9.0.6

Among others the CONVAL Service Release 9.0.6 includes the following improvements:

  • Miscellaneous
    Improved stability.
  • Control valve
Calculation of flow in multistage control valves according to IEC 60534-2-1:2011.
  • Restriction orifice plate
Improved forecast of choked flow conditions. Improved calculation in case of choked flow conditions with gas-flow through orifices with large diameter ratios.
  • Pressure relief valve
Issues in the calculation of the pressure loss in the feeding pipe of relief valves are fixed. These issues occurred with gas flow in the feeding pipe, whose length deviates from the permissible pipe length. However, the calculation of the permissible pipe length - and thus the testing of the standard conformity – was correct in any case.
  • Substance calculation
Modified calculation of the density of two-phase mixtures. The mixture density decreases at rising temperatures and differs there substantially from the homogeneous density (is smaller). Unfortunately the compensation used in in CONVAL so far was much too strong for small temperatures. Therefore, starting from version 9.0.6, CONVAL calculates always the homogeneous density without corrections.
  • Control Valve Database
Addition of new valve series and missing valves of the manufacturer Fisher.

Details about other improvements and error corrections can be found on the download page in the version history and in the known bugs section.
